As you may have heard, the government has published its long awaited homelessness strategy, with a national plan to end homelessness.
This strategy sets out a long-term vision to end homelessness and rough sleeping, making sure everyone has access to a safe and secure home. It incorporates a cross-government strategy to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurrent in England.
Homeless Link, the membership body for homelessness organisations in England recently issued their initial response detailing their thoughts and hopes for the future of the sector. You can read the Homeless Link’s response to the letter here.
In response, Charlotte Buckingham, our Executive Director of Client Services here at Two Saints, has said:
“We are delighted to see a cross-party homelessness strategy and are particularly pleased to see a focus on prevention services with a number of measures which aim to support individuals to receive support before their housing crisis occurs. We look forward to working with our Housing Authority partners to create meaningful local action plans to reduce homelessness.”
