Thank you so much to everyone who took part in our Commemoration Service today.

St Mary’s Church in Southampton was packed out as the community came together to remember 32 people who have been homeless and have died in the last year in the city.

Together we sang songs, listened to readings, and read through the names of those who have passed away. Bagpipes were played, and everyone was given a carnation to add to a display at the end, creating a ‘meadow of remembrance’ as you can see in the pictures.

It was such a moving, thought-provoking event. We at Two Saints really valued the opportunity to come together to remember those we have lost – every one a “special and valuable” person, as was said in the service.

We were particularly pleased that so many of our clients – upwards of 20 – were able to attend.

Stacey, Service Leader at the Day Centre in Southampton, said: “It was lovely to remember these people who were so full of life.

“I’d like to thank Rosie, our volunteer, all of the staff at the Day Centre, and all of the clients. They were so respectful today, and kind as always.

“We’d also like to say thank you for the donations we have been given, which were spent on flowers and food after the service.”

Ryan, a client, and Richard, our chief executive, were interviewed by news outlets on the day.
