Here’s some of the good news which has been putting big smiles on Two Saints faces this month!

Chrystal, a client from our Bournemouth services, recently had her very first experience in a hair salon.
This was thanks to Carrie, her homeless recovery worker, who organised the event and supported Chrystal on the day.
Carrie said: “Our resident had her first experience of being in a hair salon, she was well looked after with a nice hot cup of tea.
“Chrystal was given a head message and a deep treatment for her hair, styled to her choice.
“The hair salon provided Chrystal with the opportunity to experience the social side of life with new people to talk to, overcoming the fear of the unknown.
“Upon leaving the salon Chrystal was gleaming with pride, saying ‘I feel like a princess for the first time’”.
Natalie and Leanne, two members of our team from Miriam House in Southampton, attended the ‘Let our voices be heard’ event.
This was held at Southampton football stadium, and led by Southampton City Council.
The event was aimed to ensure young people in Hampshire and Isle of Wight are able to have their voices heard.
It was an opportunity for everyone working with children, young people, and their families to come together to look at the work being undertaken in Southampton.
The event also aimed to give people in the community the chance to reflect on the resources that are available.
Thank you Natalie and Leanne for attending, and for the event for hosting our stall!

A large donation of kettles and toasters is set to keep clients topped up with tea and toast, thanks to Poole Lions Club.
The group have been showing their support for Two Saints residents by making the kind donation to The Ferryman.
Pictured is club president Keith Baker and vice-president Julie Mills.
Service Manager David said: ”Poole Lions have been incredible, we had our initial meeting a few days ago and already they have provided us with kettles and toasters.
“Items like these support us in achieving our goal to provide a safe and welcoming space. We can’t thank them enough for their support.”
Our client Alicia has finished painting a wonderful mural of a hummingbird on the wall in our Andover site.
Here’s a picture of Alicia at work.
We think it is a fantastic mural, with an amazing use of colour and a real sense of movement in the brushstrokes.
Many thanks to Alicia for sharing her skills with us.

Our May Place House site in Basingstoke has a fantastic new pool table – all thanks to some generous donations from the community!
Service Leader Terri says that the pool table has been a very welcome distraction for clients, and has provided a good social setting.
Our clients wanted to say: “Thank you for the donations to May Place House, which have enabled us to purchase this wonderful gift of a pool table.
“You have really made a difference to our day and has really brightened up our spirits.”
Here’s the pool table in action.
