Here’s some of the good news which has been putting big smiles on Two Saints faces this month!

Clients in Portsmouth enjoyed games, food, and spooky decorations at a Halloween event.

The Goldsmith Avenue service welcomed several clients to enjoy some seasonal fun on 12 November.

Cindy, Team Leader at Goldsmith Avenue, said: “This event took place – on time – last year and was successful, so we arranged to do it again.

“It is a nice opportunity for our clients to spend some leisure time together, including with staff.

“This invitation was put out to the Move On Service also, and two clients from that service attended.

“The clients and staff played bingo, charades and guess who. We also had a very large cobweb and big spider join us, as decoration in the yard.

“After the games, all of the clients sat in one of our offices and chatted together with staff, enjoying tea and sandwiches.

“The feedback was they really enjoyed it and said that they liked spending time together.”

Our May Place clients enjoyed a pizza night thanks to a kind donation from a member of the community.

A very generous supporter, who wishes to remain anonymous, donated crockery and cutlery, five bags of toiletries, and pre-paid vouchers for takeaway pizza.

The benefactor said that she decided to support Two Saints as she has experienced homelessness herself.

She said: “As a family, we make it our mission to share the good. Having come from messy lives we feel it’s important to teach our kids that you never know when you might be dealt a bad hand, and if you’re lucky enough to turn it around, never forget to help those in need.

“A small act of kindness can have the biggest impact on someone else.”

The Basingstoke clients were very appreciative of the pizza.

Comments included:

“Very impressed with the kindness of a stranger.”

“Pizza night was banging.”

One of our young people at our Portsmouth service, ‘S’, has moved into her own home.

As she requested, Two Saints focused on finding a place in the Havant area so S could stay close to work and friends.

S just finished her final year of college, where she studied Health & Social Care, aiming to become a nurse. Alongside her studies, she works part-time at Marks & Spencer.

We secured a place for her, and after a viewing, she was thrilled to accept and S officially moved into her new home. With support, she’s already set up utilities and applied for Housing Benefit.

S is determined to master her independent living skills, and we’re here to guide her with weekly support as she reaches for her dreams!
