We’re very pleased to announce that our Portsmouth services have been chosen as one of the organisations supported by this year’s Comfort and Joy, Churches Homeless Action’s Christmas voucher scheme!
There are two elements to the scheme:
- Gathering vouchers or gift cards for £5 or £10, which are given to clients so that they can purchase what they need.
- Sharing Christmas cards with personal messages, recognising our common humanity and reaching out to others over the festive period.
The vouchers will make a huge difference to the clients at our Portsmouth services, representing the gift of choice and freedom to choose what to buy based on personal needs. The vouchers can be spent on food, clothing, or even a gift for a loved one at Christmas – something our clients are not always able to do.
We were lucky enough to be supported by the Comfort and Joy scheme in previous years, and it’s great that we’re receiving this support again. Each year, it is increasingly apparent how much this simple scheme means to those who receive the gift cards and greetings.
Churches Homeless Action will be distributing the collections at their annual carol concert at St Mary’s Church in Fratton.
If you or someone you know would like to make a donation to the Comfort and Joy campaign, there are two ways to do so:
