Two Saints recently welcomed two newly elected MPs to visit services in Southampton and Portsmouth.

Satvir Kaur, MP for Southampton Test, dropped in at the Day Centre in Southampton, while Amanda Martin, MP for Portsmouth North, was welcomed to Hope House in Portsmouth.

They visited sites within their constituencies to find out more about Two Saints’ clients, services, and plans for the future.

Both MPs spoke with clients and staff about funding for homelessness support services and the importance of securing a positive future for housing in our communities.

Satvir said: “I visited the Two Saints Day Centre in Southampton and was blown away by the amazing work they do there.

“Moving and inspiring to meet some of their users, including Ryan, Kim and Lawrence – I heard how the centre and charity is a real life-line, how it’s saved and changed lives!

“The wrap-around support is incredible too, from health to employment (with some now volunteering at the centre to give back).

“Thanks for all you do Two Saints to help our most vulnerable. I’ll continue to champion your great work, and advocate for more affordable decent homes.

“They are also always open to more volunteers and especially food donations – so if you can help, please do.”

Amanda said: “Brilliant to meet the team at Two Saints, Portsmouth today to hear about the work they do in our city.

“From helping those fleeing domestic abuse or supporting those with mental health challenges.

“The team provide people with homes and specialist support so they feel more valued and secure, and ready to take the next steps.”
