This month we’ve been lucky to have some wonderful weather – as well as some amazing support from our clients and community!

Here’s some of the good news which has been putting big smiles on Two Saints faces this month.

Some of our Newbury clients have created this wonderful garden space in memory of those who have passed away.

Supported by funding and using recycled materials, the clients worked hard to build a new memorial bench and a memory garden.

The service has more flowers to plant and items to add, but they are very proud of the space they’ve created.

It was a delicious Easter at Eastleigh as staff put together a special dinner for residents.

The table was piled high with roast chicken, vegetables, and potatoes.

Relief worker Sam said: “Dom and Kim shopped for the food and arranged the cooking with residents helping to prep the vegetables. I made the cupcakes.

“We had apple strudel, chocolate fudge cake and ice cream too, but I was too busy enjoying the food and company so forgot to take the dessert photos!

“All in all it was a lovely and successful meal bringing the residents together.”

Quiz-goers sharpening their pencils in aid of a great cause have helped raise £259 for Two Saints’ arts and culture fund!

The Cormorant Pub and Restaurant in Portchester hosted weekly fundraising quizzes throughout the month of April.

The money raised will go into our arts and culture fund for clients.

Schoolchildren and their families have raised hundreds of pounds for Two Saints by hosting a fundraising drive for Lent.

St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School in Fareham asked for support from the school community and raised £392 for our organisation, as well as collecting bags of donations including toiletries, clothes, and food.

Two Saints attended their assembly earlier this week to receive the cheque and the donations.

At the assembly, headteacher Mrs Katrina Straker read a Bible story and spoke to the pupils about how important it is to help people in our community who aren’t as fortunate as we are.

The picture shows Mrs Straker (in red) presenting the cheque to our regional director Kate along with pupils Noah and Lily.

A Two Saints team leader has given her service’s mental health crisis space a welcome makeover.

Louise, who is part of our Isle of Wight team, sourced funding which was used for furnishings and decorations to create a welcoming space for clients to use.

Her manager Laura said: “Louise joined the service last year and since then, she has made huge improvements to the environment.

“She has recently sourced a service specific donation of £500, which has been used to purchase furnishings for the space we have for clients to visit if they are in a mental health crisis.

“This space has been somewhat neglected, but Louise and her team have brought it to life and made it a safe, comfortable, and psychologically informed environment.

“I feel very proud to have such a committed and person-centred team, and I’m so pleased with what they have achieved.

“I have worked for Two Saints for five and a half years and in all that time, I have never seen that plant flower so I felt like it was a good reflection of the love and care that the service gets from Louise and her team.”
