Please donate and help us provide housing to those who need it most

Welcome to the Base

The Base aims to engage with disadvantaged or reluctant learners to improve their skills and opportunities for accredited learning and employment.

We offer our clients access to learning through group sessions as well as more informal individual tuition. Workshops such as creative arts, essential life skills, and Information Technology provide the support and direction needed to enable a move towards independent living. Some of the key outcomes from the service we provide are: gaining recognised accredited qualifications, voluntary or paid employment opportunities, increased confidence and self esteem and crucially, improved chances of sustainable independent housing.

We aim to support people to:

  • Enrol with The Base (i.e. Service user will have registered and started to take advantage of what's on offer).
  • Enrol on college courses or studying for a level 1 accredited qualification through learning Direct.
  • Improve their literacy and numeracy skills through life-skills coaching, delivered within the projects.
