Newbury Resettlement and Floating Support

Two Saints Resettlement

Newbury Resettlement

Our resettlement services work closely with our direct access hostel in Newbury to offer accommodation and support in two properties, offering a total of 22 rooms . These offer  shared kitchens and communal dining and living rooms  in which residents cook and budget for themselves whilst still working with our dedicated keyworker to develop skills, undertake training courses and re-establish links with family, friends and the community.   We are proud of our gardens, which many of our residents maintain and improve.

The  Newbury Resettlement Service also offers support through a number of self-contained flats. Here residents are able to live independently, but still have contact with a keyworker, offering appropriate and agreed levels of support.

We aim to provide the highest quality service possible and encourage service users to fully participate in identifying changes and improvements to the resettlement service. They can do this through regular House Meetings, attendance at the Two Saints-wide Challenge Group Meetings for service users and through service user participation in Service Reviews.

West Berkshire Floating Support

Newbury Floating support services

In addition to our Newbury Resettlement Services, we also provide a generic floating support service across the whole of West Berkshire.

We work throughout the area, preferring to meet people in their own homes. We can make other arrangements, subject to a risk assessment, in order to suit the needs of our service users.

We provide support and signposting with the following;

  • Basic advice on rights and responsibilities regarding housing
  • Help with filling in forms and dealing with red tape, including benefit claims
  • Help with managing money and payment of bills
  • Problem solving
  • Accessing specialist services when necessary
  • Linking in with community groups and facilities

Our service was set up to support people by giving practical support and advice. We work in a professional, non judgemental, confidential way, supporting people to deal with most matters that come their way. If we can't help directly, then we can signpost people to appropriate services that can.

The maximum support time we can offer each service user is two years, although for some people a very short period will be enough to provide the help needed.

We aim to meet service users for the first appointment within one week of receiving a referral. All agencies can refer and we also accept self referrals.
