101 Gosport Road

101 Gosport Road is a 16 bed direct access hostel for single homeless people aged 16 years and over, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, ethnic group or personal circumstances.

Religious and cultural specific needs are addressed through a multi-agency approach and access to relevant information.

The referral process is by self referral or from outside agencies and the project is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Four meals a day are provided and special dietary requirements accommodated as much as possible.

Within the hostel there is access to laundry facilities, computer suite, pool table, video library and information on local services including places of worship. Weekly drop-in services from the Avalon, Nexus and The Base are available for any service user needing support with substance misuse or accessing education opportunities.

Weekly residents' meetings take place and service users are also invited to attend staff meetings, the Two Saints Challenge Group and SURF, the Hampshire user reference Forum.

Objectives: On admission the service user is offered an initial 28 day assessment of needs, working to provide an individual support plan.

Through regular key work sessions service users are supported to maintain their accommodation, advice on housing and benefit issues, support with emotional and physical wellbeing and life skills to suitably equip service users to find appropriate move-on opportunities, either through Two Saints resettlement staging programme or external housing providers.
